POLITCS: "Bryant candidate to beat for governor" [still...]

clarionledger.com: "Whichever Democrat wins the Aug. 23 runoff, Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree or Clarksdale lawyer Bill Luckett, will face an uphill struggle to beat Phil Bryant, the unofficial Republican nominee."

Have to include this critical segment of the story, from analyst Marty Wiseman:
The last Democratic candidate for governor won 42 percent, he said. "That level of vote is always there for Democrats."
To win, the Democratic challenger will have to run as a populist and criticize Bryant's opposition to President Barack Obama's health care legislation, which promises to insure 600,000 more Mississippians, he said.
"We haven't got a preponderance of Republicans in Mississippi," he said. "We just have a lot of independents who cuss and fuss."
