To win, the Democratic challenger will have to run as a populist and criticize Bryant's opposition to President Barack Obama's health care legislation, which promises to insure 600,000 more Mississippians, he said.
"We haven't got a preponderance of Republicans in Mississippi," he said. "We just have a lot of independents who cuss and fuss."
