XGR: "QUORUM 2-23-2011 - Judicial Legislation"

Show summary: "Judiciary legislation consumes a great deal of time at the State Capitol each year and covers some of the most contentious issues before us. Mississippians can feel the impact of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees in their businesses, their schools, their homes, even their backyards. This year, legislators have already considered legislation dealing with animal cruelty, texting, divorce, and immigration, but these are just a handful of the many issues raised for debate in the 2011 Legislative Session. This week, House Judiciary A Chairman Ed Blackmon (D-Madison County), House Judiciary B Vice-Chair Bob Evans (D-Copiah, Covington, Jeff. Davis, Lawrence, Simpson), Senate Judiciary A Chairman Joey Fillingane (R-Covington, Forrest, Jefferson Davis, Lamar, Marion) and Senate Judiciary B member David Baria (D-Hancock, Harrison) discuss some of the legislation that has come through their committees and prompted such heated debate."
